Antique Singer Swivel Desk Chair – D A classic factory workers stool designed and manufactured by Singer. During the mid-nineteenth century, the Singer Company became world-famous with its invention of the sewing machine. In 1910, the company launched a range of professional furniture for the textile industry, the centrepiece of the collection a stool with a cast-iron base and wooden seat. This chair retains it original brown factory paint to the cast base and sprung steel backrest support. The solid elm seat and backrest are in their natural colour. The seat is height adjustable via lockable wing nut. Cast Singer manufactures mark to base. Dimensions: Seat Height: Min 48cm – max 66 cm approx Width 35cm Depth 43cm Origin: Bradford, UK Circa: 1940 Workshop Report: Overall very good, cast metal in original condition, the chairs retain their locking wing nuts, wood and metalwork waxed for future protection. There are some markings to the wooden backrests. As with all our products, this product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
