This large Persian market blue and white Chinese export charger features both Persian and Chinese motifs as was typical of porcelain made for that market. Chinese porcelain was fashionable in many areas of the world. This charger is clearly Chinese export as indicated by the glaze, the imagery, and the rusty iron oxidation dots that occur during the firing process. The blue color is underglaze. This piece is in very good original condition, and shows only wear consistent with age and use. It is fitted with a wire for hanging on the wall.
