Vintage Design
The Gilda sofa, composed of comfortable curved modules, is a rare sibling to Michel Ducaroy’s famous Toga sofa. A student of sculpture at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, Ducaroy was primarily concerned with form and shape. Designing for Ligne Roset, he was able to actualize these new forms, harnessing technological developments in foam, quilting, and thermoformed plastic. This sofa consists of three round elements and two straight elements which create endless setting possibilities. The elements are connected with metal buckles in the back. This breathtaking design is besides funky looks also incredibly comfortable! Once you sit down you never want to get up. Recently reupholstered in a light brown rustic rugged linen chenille by Zinc fabrics with a vintage appearance.
