Vintage Design
Farming tools are carved on the base of the mirror frame above a fantastic serpentine shaped top with a double moulded edge. The frieze is carved with Masonic symbols and a courthouse; these features hint that at the heart of Britain’s imperial exports were the rule of law and the skills of the people. The frieze is supported by two beautifully carved figures, one holds a cornucopia and the other has laurel leaves to the front. The shaped back is supported with carved vines and fruit decoration that stand on a shaped plinth base. This is a wonderful piece that perfectly captures Victorian nationhood.
This is a true piece of history.
