19th Century Seated Scholar French Figural Mantel Clock

This listing is for a large and impressive antique French mantel clock.

This clock comes from Paris and dates to the 19th century.

The case is made from slate stone with marble inlay. The upper is adorned with a bronze ornamentation including a statue of a seated scholar. The clock sits on 4 bronze feet.

The movement is an 8 day time/strike by Japy Freres. It is nicely complimented by a porcelain dial

The movement was last serviced in 2020. It ran when recently tested. The clock has a bell chime that strikes on the hour and half hour.

The clock is in very good condition and has been well cared for.

The clock measures 19 (width) x 6.5 (depth) x 15.25 (height) inches
